15. Podcasts

I listened to the mp3ater Project at The Education Podcast Network. This was the easiest dirctory to navigate, didn't need to download any software to listen to the casts. I won't be subscribing to any podcasts anytime soon.  I have better things to do then keep up with these.  I doubt he'd use it, how many poets now do you see using it?  Not many.  I have no clue what he would call it Leaves of Grass or something.  And I'm sure if he had one his parents would listen, why not?

14. Research Project Calculator

I think i would prefer the Research Project Calculator the less steps would simply things, and the email notifications would probably be handy.  They give you tips and reminders and show you how to manage your time, it would be quite helpful.  Most of these tools would work for any work assignment you have to get done.

13. Online Productivity Tools

I chose google as my start page because I've been using it for years.  I recommend using a calendar, my google calendar syncs with my phone, it's awesome!  I use the notes application on my phone for notes, works great for me.  I passed up using backpack because all of my stuff is convenient as it is.  And as for the other tools I use PDF converter, it's super handy.

12. Tagging and Del.icio.us

So I tagged this post with some stuff.  I really don't like delicious, I would much rather use my firefox bookmarks, I don't see it helping my academic/professional life.  Tagging could be helpful when searching blogs for information/photos ect.

11. Online Creations

Here's a slideshow about my hair.

I used the Zoho slideshow, it could be used  for slideshows of your friends, or in portfolio presentations, it was easy to use and would recommend it to others.   But I would suggest that they use Google Docs or Open Office instead.

9. Photosharing with Flickr

I searched for a photo of Chernobyl, I've always been fascinated with the place and found this amazing photo of a music theater.

Flickr is a great way to easily share photos, especially art and designs.
I use several different image sharing sites, majhost, imageshack, gyazo, and several others.  Each for certain reasons.  They all have their pros and cons.
Art is about sharing, there is no reason to hide it. Unless it's designs for a logo or under a contract with someone who wants the images not public.

8. Wikis

I have always loved the wiki concept and I myself have made several wikis.  Articles are surprisingly accurate.  Wikis can be great tools similar the sharing documents using google docs and zoho.  I see the ban, becuase it's not hard to post obviously inaccurate information, but they are still good resources.  Just scroll to the bottom of the page and read the sources.

7. Online Collaboration Tools

Google Docs was easier to use because I have used it a lot before.  I like the use of google docs with google wave and sharing files is much easier and being able to make surveys with google docs.  I don't have much else to say about this.  Google Docs FTW!

6. Digg, Reddit

I can search digg for a specific topic and see which have been dug the most.  I could care less if I'm more 'popular' in my social media networks.  I don't use Reddit or Twitter, so their combining doesn't effect me in the slightest. You can't completely ensure any source is completely accurate, every single site you will get information from will be biased in some way.  Or just completely wrong.

5. Beyond MyFaceSpaceBooking

Set up a plurk account, so exciting, started following the 16things account.

I chose plurk because that's where the 16things account was and as easier to sign up for.  I don't see this helping my school or professional development much, maybe if they posted job openings or something.  I already don't like twitter and things similar, it's just as bad as facebook with people updating their twitter about every little thing in there life.  On to the next assignment.

4. Socail Media

I have already been finding Ai friends through facebook, I had a few before I even started class.  I upload a lot of my art to facebook, one of these days I'm going to try and upload it all or at least most there.  But I feel in the near future I'm just going to delete my facebook like I did with my MySpace.   Time will tell.  I don't share very much with my 'circle' on facebook, I don't really feel a need too.  Professional networking should be devoid of the some of the annoying little things that fill facebook, like updating everybody on every little thing that happens in your life.  It should have a more professional front.

3. Email/My Ai Campus

I've had an email since I was about 12, and I've had at least 8 emails since then.  The campus site is very handy, keeps me updated on deals on tickets and other student events.  I use the event calender quite a bit.  Slowly I explore more and more of the site trying to find other useful stuff.

2. RSS Feeds

I have been using RSS feeds for years now this is nothing new.  It keeps me updated on bands I like and some of my favorite artists. I use uTorrent as my RSS reader, used it for years loved it.  That's really all I have to say about this.

1. Blog

I rather despise blogs.  This should be such an exciting assignment.
